| The water temperature, when it comes to fishing can be a fickle situation. The temperatures can vary greatly from the top of the water collumn to the bottom. Not only that, it depends on the specie targeted, the seasonal variations, the method and the means. Below we will try to explore as many of these variations, tips, and available resources, etc... | The water temperature when fishing offshore is a huge factor in what you will catch, where you can catch, and when you will catch a fish. Again, the temperature thru out the water collumn, the specie, and alot of other factors come into play when discussing this, but the data listed below is looking at surface temperatures readily available. This tip was told to me by CFLFR's Don D., an avid offshore gamester that has some great knowledge and experience under his belt.
What to look for: When using this data, look for a drastic change in the surface temperature, these rips not only attract the bait pods, they also represent and create shifts in water speed, forming weedlines and a perfect spot for that sportfish to ambush his prey hinding among the floating structure. Compare the changes with temperature with the LAT/LON on the map and take notice of drastic changes and ever changing sprites of the temperature off-shoots. The extreme or whited out areas are cooler clouds, imparing the vision of the sattleltie imagery, this can really affect the usabilty of this data, but it is still very useful.
